Data We Do Not Collect In The App
For core transcription features, MacTranscribe is designed to work locally on your device. We do not collect:
- Your audio recordings
- Your transcript content
- Your custom vocabulary or local app settings
- Usage analytics tied to your identity
Local Processing
- Speech-to-text processing runs on your Mac.
- Transcript files and app data are stored locally by default.
- You can delete local files at any time using your device controls.
Optional Third-Party AI Features
Some optional features may let you connect third-party AI services.
If you use those features:
- You provide and manage your own API key.
- Requests are sent from your device to that provider.
- MacTranscribe does not store your API key on our servers.
- The third-party provider's terms and privacy policy apply to the data sent to them.
Payments And Storefronts
If you purchase MacTranscribe through a payment provider or app storefront, that provider may process information such as billing details and purchase records under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your full payment card number.
Legal Compliance
We may disclose limited information if required by law, court order, or valid legal process.
Data Security
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. We use reasonable measures to protect any information we do process, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
MacTranscribe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
